A World Connected by 3D Printers — From beginners to YouTubers and corporations. Two days of food trucks, workshops, design contests, and international content creators.

The JRRF 2026 Organizing Committee (Representative: Yuto Horiuchi) will hold “Japan RepRap Festival 2026 (JRRF 2026)” over two days on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Tokyo Ryutsu Center (TRC) Exhibition Hall E (6-1-1 Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo).

What Is JRRF? — A Festival of 3D Printing and Making, with 140+ Booths

JRRF (Japan RepRap Festival) is a community event that carries forward the spirit of “RepRap,” the open-source 3D printer movement, to spread the joy and knowledge of making through 3D printing. A defining feature of JRRF is the opportunity to see, touch, and talk about real machines — from DIY 3D printers to the latest commercial models. The event brings together a diverse range of participants: first-time 3D printer users, veteran makers, industry professionals, popular YouTubers, and international creators.

Doubling the venue size from last year’s inaugural edition, this year’s event has grown to include 44 corporate sponsors, 41 corporate exhibition booths, and a total of over 140 booths. The venue will feature a wide range of making-related genres: DIY 3D printers, high-speed FFF printers, filaments, 3D scanners, CAD software, AI modeling tools, CNC machines, laser cutters, and various accessories. Beyond static displays, there will be live demonstrations, hands-on booths, workshops, machine trials, and sales booths, offering an immersive experience at the forefront of digital fabrication. The lineup of exhibitors is just as diverse as the visitors, making the event accessible and enjoyable for beginners while providing plenty of depth for those who want to dive into technical discussions. Unlike conventional trade shows, JRRF aims to be a place where people who love 3D printing can come together regardless of their background, connect, and discover something new.

An International Event

JRRF 2026 is a truly international event, drawing participants from around the world. Many exhibitors and visitors come from overseas, and the official website supports three languages: Japanese, English, and Chinese.

International 3D printing content creators have been invited, and new product announcements are planned. The JCJC team will be in attendance, RC demonstrations are scheduled, and additional content — including exhibitions and experiences rarely seen in Japan — will be announced on a rolling basis.

We understand that some international visitors may feel hesitant about the language barrier. Interpreter volunteers will be on-site, and modern translation apps and AI tools are remarkably capable. But the most powerful communication is simply speaking up in your own words — even if they are not perfect. A simple “Hi!” or “I like your work!” will make someone’s day. The love of 3D printing is a universal language. Taking that first step is already a wonderful experience.

Family-Friendly Venue

JRRF 2026 is designed so that families with children can enjoy the event with peace of mind. The facility includes a nursing room, and the venue provides a stroller parking area. Many kid-friendly booths are planned, where children can touch 3D-printed creations and participate in workshops. Admission is free for junior high school students and younger, as well as high school students (up to 3rd year of technical college). A stamp rally and other family activities will also be available.

MakerChip — Your Personal Token Instead of a Business Card

At JRRF 2026, we encourage exchanging “MakerChips” instead of business cards. A MakerChip is a 3D-printed token (40 mm diameter, 3 mm thick) conceived by K2 Kevin. You can freely incorporate your logo, QR code, or original design, making it a palm-sized communication tool that showcases your making skills and creativity.

Templates are available on Printables and MakerWorld, so anyone can create their own MakerChip. On the day of the event, many booths will be distributing MakerChips, and collecting them is part of the fun.

Do not hesitate to approach corporate booths — at JRRF, there is no wall between companies and individuals. The people staffing those booths love 3D printing just as much as you do. Instead of just looking at displays, start a conversation: “How did you make this?” or “What material is this?” These casual exchanges happen naturally at JRRF. Forget business cards — let’s exchange MakerChips!

MakerChip Holder Design Contest

We are currently running a “MakerChip Holder Design Contest,” calling for designs of cases and holders to store MakerChips. Both new designs and previously created works are eligible. Judges’ prizes include the “K2 Kevin Award” and the “Harukaze Popopo Award.” There is still time to enter — why not start designing now?

The JRRF Atmosphere

No suits. No business cards. All you need to walk through the door is a feeling that “3D printing sounds fun.” If you happen to have a MakerChip you made yourself, slip it into your pocket and bring it along. Once you step inside JRRF, experience, skill level, and job titles all stop mattering. Here, everyone is a fellow maker, and everyone is equal. Whether it is your first time or you are coming alone — do not worry. There is a place here for you.
